1. SET UP THE BIKE
Be sure your chain is on the LARGE/OUTER RING of your chain drive.
Tapping the rear derailleur inwards is also recommended.
Release your front brakes and remove the front wheel.
Place the bike against a wall at a slight angle, with the left pedal forward almost touching the ground.
Place your front wheel on the same pedal with the skewers between the bidons.
Sandwich the front wheel against the top tube by turning the handle bars in against it.
Avoid moving the bicycle while putting on the bag, other than to briefly raise and lower the rear wheel and fork.
2. RAISE THE REAR WHEEL
Sweep the bag under the rear wheel, towards the front of the bike, until the bag hugs the rear wheel and the reinforced ground patch is directly under the wheel. The zip tab should be top centre.
3. DRAW BAG THE FORWARD
Sweep the bag towards the front of the bike, having the left pedal slightly raised makes it easy to pass the bag through. Be sure to go around your rear derailleur and pedals.
4. EASE IN FORKS
Place your left hand in the bag to locate the reinforced ‘FORK BOX’, gripping the outer fork blade with your right hand, lift, then lower the fork in. Taking care and time here gives years of life to the bag.
5. SECURE THE HANDLE BARS
Reach over the top tube to locate a 50cm strap attached to the top edge of the bag. Bring the strap over the top tube / front wheel / handle bars.
Take the same strap through your cables to its mate/buckle attached to the bag near the head tube. Attach and tension this strap until the handle bars / front wheel are firmly held in place.
6. DRAW THE BAG OVER
Guide the inside front of the bag over first the levers, then the hoods.
7. ATTACH SHOULDER STRAP
3 tabs are to be found attached to the stuff sac (storage sac) on the inside of the main bag. They must be firmly attached to the handle bar stem using all 3 tabs. The shoulder strap travels through the stuff sac and out its aperture.
8. CLOSE REAR ZIP
9. CLOSE FRONT ZIP
10. SECURE THE EXTERNAL STRAP
Locate the 40cm strap behind the forks on the outside of the bag, clip it to its mate/buckle behind the stem of the bike and tension it until the bag is taut. This brings the front wheel in close to the frame, closes the bag and keeps the fork in the reinforced box.
11. ATTACH THE SHOULDER STRAP
Attach the buckled end of the shoulder strap to seat post or saddle. If you have a saddle bag, the strap can be looped like a noose over the rear half of the saddle itself. The bag is most comfortably worn on the right shoulder with the bike close to vertical, the saddle and rear wheel in front of you.
